Refund & Cancellation Policy - Bedoya Tech Inc.
1. Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs all subscription plans offered by Tech Bedoya Inc. through the Monkey Library platform ("the Platform") at my.monkeylibrary.app. By subscribing to any paid plan, you agree to the terms set out in this Policy.
Monkey Library offers subscription-based access to a metadata management and media organization platform. No physical goods are sold. All plans are digital services delivered immediately upon payment. This Policy is written in compliance with the Quebec Consumer Protection Act (CPA), PIPEDA, and general best practices for SaaS subscription billing.
This Policy does not constitute legal advice. Tech Bedoya Inc. recommends consulting a Quebec-licensed attorney for jurisdiction-specific guidance.

3. Subscription Plans
Monkey Library currently offers the following plans:
Guest (Free): No charge. No payment information required. Not subject to this Policy.
Subscriber — Monthly: Billed each month on the anniversary of the original subscription date.
Subscriber — Annual: Billed once per year at a discounted rate. Paid upfront for the full year.
Editor — Monthly: Billed each month. Includes content creation and Space management features.
Editor — Annual: Billed once per year at a discounted rate.
Current pricing for each plan is displayed at registration and on the Platform's pricing page. Prices are shown in USD unless otherwise indicated at checkout. Applicable taxes may be added depending on your jurisdiction.
4. How to Cancel
4a. Self-service cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time directly from your account settings:
Log in to my.monkeylibrary.app
Navigate to Account → Billing → Manage Subscription
Select Cancel Subscription and confirm
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation, and your access to paid features will continue until the period ends.
4b. Cancellation by contacting support
If you are unable to cancel via the account settings, contact us at support@monkeylibrary.app with the subject line "Subscription Cancellation Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 2 business days and confirm by email.
4c. Effect of cancellation on your data
Upon cancellation, your account is downgraded to the Guest (free) tier at the end of the billing period. Your metadata records, Space memberships, watchlists, and organizational preferences are retained for 90 days after downgrade, giving you time to resubscribe without losing your work. After 90 days, inactive free-tier data may be permanently deleted.
If you request full account deletion (separate from cancellation), all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days of the request. This action is irreversible.
5. Refund Policy
5a. 14-day money-back guarantee (new subscribers)
If you are subscribing to a paid Monkey Library plan for the first time, you are entitled to a full refund if you request it within 14 days of your initial payment date. No reason is required.
To request a refund under this guarantee:
Email support@monkeylibrary.app with the subject line "Refund Request — 14-Day Guarantee"
Include the email address on your account and your payment date
We will process the refund within 5 business days
Refunds are returned to the original payment method (Stripe or PayPal). Processing time by the payment provider may add 3–7 additional business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
The 14-day guarantee applies once per account lifetime. It does not apply to plan upgrades, plan renewals, or accounts that have previously received a refund.
5b. Annual plan — 30-day renewal window
If your annual subscription renews automatically and you did not intend to renew, you may request a pro-rata refund within 30 days of the renewal charge. The refund will cover the unused full months remaining in the annual period at the time of the refund request.
Example: if you cancel 2 months into a renewed annual plan, you receive a refund for 10 unused months.
To request an annual renewal refund, contact support@monkeylibrary.app with your account email and the renewal charge date. We will confirm eligibility and process within 5 business days.
5c. Monthly plan — general cancellations
Monthly subscriptions cancelled after the 14-day initial guarantee window are not eligible for a refund of the current billing period. Your access continues until the end of the period, after which no further charges are made.
5d. Annual plan — mid-term cancellations
Annual subscriptions cancelled more than 30 days after the billing date (initial purchase or renewal) are not eligible for a refund. Access continues until the end of the annual period.
5e. Platform outages
If the Monkey Library platform experiences an unplanned outage exceeding 72 consecutive hours due to issues within our control, affected subscribers will receive a pro-rata credit applied to their next billing cycle. Credits are calculated based on the number of affected days divided by the total days in the billing period, multiplied by the plan price.
Outages caused by third-party services (Supabase, Algolia, Cloudflare, Stripe, PayPal, or external CDN/stream sources) are outside our control and are not eligible for credits.
5f. No refunds for the following
Refunds are not issued in the following circumstances:
Account suspension or termination due to violation of the Terms of Use
Failure to cancel before an auto-renewal date (except the annual 30-day window in 5b)
Partial use of a subscription period
Dissatisfaction with features that were accurately described at the time of purchase
Inability to access externally linked content (streams, files on Google Drive, Dropbox, S3, etc.) that is outside Monkey Library's control
Duplicate charges resulting from user error (contact your bank to reverse these)
6. Automatic Renewal
All paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will receive a reminder email at least 7 days before any annual renewal charge is processed.
Monthly plans renew on the same calendar day each month. If your subscription started on the 31st and the next month has fewer days, it renews on the last day of that month.
You can view your next renewal date and manage auto-renewal at any time in Account → Billing → Manage Subscription.
Under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act, you have the right to cancel a contract for successive-performance services at any time and for any reason. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
7. Plan Changes
7a. Upgrades
If you upgrade from a lower-tier plan to a higher-tier plan mid-cycle, the price difference is calculated on a pro-rata basis and charged immediately. Your billing date resets to the upgrade date.
7b. Downgrades
If you downgrade to a lower-tier plan, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refund is issued for the difference. You retain access to the higher-tier features until the period ends.
7c. Switching billing frequency
Switching from monthly to annual billing takes effect at the next renewal date. Switching from annual to monthly billing takes effect at the end of the current annual period.
8. Billing Disputes & Chargebacks
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, contact us at support@monkeylibrary.app before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider. We resolve the majority of billing disputes within 3 business days.
Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate account suspension pending resolution. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account termination.
9. Payment Methods
Monkey Library accepts the following payment methods:
Credit and debit cards via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
PayPal
Payment information is processed and stored securely by Stripe and PayPal. Bedoya Tech Inc. does not store full card numbers or PayPal credentials. All transactions are encrypted.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to process it again over the following 3 days. If payment cannot be collected after 3 attempts, your account will be downgraded to the Guest tier until a valid payment method is provided.
10. Quebec Consumer Protection Act
Bedoya Tech Inc. is incorporated in Quebec, Canada. Where applicable, the Quebec Consumer Protection Act (Loi sur la protection du consommateur) governs your rights as a subscriber. Key rights under the CPA include:
The right to cancel a successive-performance contract (subscription) at any time
The right to receive a written confirmation of your cancellation
Protection against unfair billing practices
The right to a refund for services not yet rendered at the time of cancellation
If you believe your consumer rights under Quebec law have been violated, you may contact the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC) at www.opc.gouv.qc.ca.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to the address associated with your account and posted within the Platform at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
